GENERAL INFORMATION

1. AHCI, Kandy issues all categories of visas through the IVS Indian Visa Application Centre (IVS), No 675, William Gopallawa Mawatha, Kandy (Tel Nos +94 81 221 7404 & +94 11 255 9435 & +94 11 255 9436). Visa applications must be filled online on the website www.indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa with complete, proper and verifiable details and the printed form along with required documents may be submitted at IVS office from 08:00 AM to 12:00 PM on all working days and approved visas may be collected from IVS, Kandy between 04:00 PM and 05:00 PM. Incomplete applications and applications with wrong information are liable to be rejected and some applications may take more processing time depending on the issue involved.

2. Foreign Nationals (other than Sri Lankans) applying for Business or any other long term visa needs to be a resident in the jurisdiction of AHCI, Kandy for a period of at least two years.

3. Photo affixed on the application should be a recent colour photo of the size 2 inch x 2 inch (51 mm x 51 mm) with frontal view (both ears visible) in white background.

4. Issue of visa is the prerogative of the Government of India and not the right of applicant.

5. Visa Fee is non refundable in case visa is NOT issued due to any reason.

6. Acceptance of application form does not necessarily mean grant of visa.

7. Please check the visa for correctness before travelling to India.

8. Granting of the visa does not confer any right of entry to India as it is subject to immigration clearance.

9. The AHCI, Kandy reserves the right of deciding and granting the type of visa/ duration of visa / number of entries, irrespective of the fees tendered.

10. Previous passports, Passports of other nationalities if any, Green Card etc. should be produced in original and copies should be attached with application.

11. IVS provides visa application support service only and they are not responsible for actual issue of visa.

12. All applicants are required to possess a valid travel document with min 6 months validity at the time of applying and at least two blank pages.

14. Electronic Visa (e Visa). The nationals of Sri Lanka are eligible to avail Government of India launched e Visa service, in case of any query regarding e Visa, helpdesk is available in eVisa portal at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/.
